Dear Shadowgate developers and other people who read this forum.
Shadowgate was the first adventure game I owned on my Amiga. It was also the first game I played on a mac at school.
To me , a big part of what made shadowgate unique was it's inventory system. The different sizes of objects , and being able to drag them from screen to the inventory , then later being able to move order and place them in the inventory screen. Small items had small icons large items large icons , solving puzzles often involved using the overlooked tiny items in one's inventory.
From what i have seen in the video of what the game looks like now , all items are the same size and the game seems somewhat "generic" , for lack of maybe a better word.
Really, having an inventory with identically sized items which can't be dragged around is really not a step forward.
Please take the time to revistit what made shadowgate unique when it came out , and try and incorporate those things into this incarnation of the game.
Dragable resizable windows are also a major part of what made the game unique.
The essence of what I'm trying to say is this: Please _remake_ shadowgate. Keep it whole. It's not a FPS , it's not a screen by screen myst clone. Don't strip it down for parts and use the story to make something generic , using the title as a selling point. Among others of my generation I have high hopes for this product design being executed in a classy way, as close to the original as possible.
Friendly regards.
