With the opening of this forum a bit ago, and the exciting news last night of the Kickstarter officially being successful, I just wanted to post a thread here for everyone here, to be able to give thanks to Dave Marsh and Karl Roelofs, for everything they've done.
Shadowgate has been on a long and interesting journey. From its beginnings on computers, and the NES version many of us are familiar with, to the TurboDuo and N64, and various ports and such. And then, over the past decade, kind of disappearing and fading away.
Many games and series from the early NES/Computer days have long since faded away, as those involved with them went on to other things, their rights passed on to others, and eventually lost and forgotten. And it had appeared for a bit that Shadowgate might follow a similar fate. And it's quite possible that, absent some intervention, that it may have.
One thing that hasn't changed during all that time, however, has been Dave and Karl's passion for Shadowgate. As fans many of us have passion for this series, but to have some of the people who have been involved from the beginning having that same passion, and working so hard to bring us to this point, and to make all of this possible, has really been amazing.
After years of seeming like we may never see Shadowgate again, we have Dave and Karl to thank, not only for rescuing the franchise, and bringing it back, but giving it such a promising future, which we now all have to look forward to.
And so, to Dave and Karl, and to everyone else involved with Shadowgate, I just wanted to say Thank You.
