This is a question for our European fans: How many of you have played the Swedish language version of Shadowgate? The NES port was one of the few NES games to get a Swedish language version of the game, and even became infamous for a typo in the translation. Here you can see the back of the box for the Swedish version of the NES Shadowgate: If we can get past our goal of $120,000, one of the things we want to do is get the new Shadowgate translated into other languages. Even though I'm the Community Manager, I intend to make sure that should we get to the point where we can look into French, Italian, German, and Spanish translations (the usual), Swedish is also included as a MUST translate. (Come to think of it, translating into Japanese might also be beneficial as well since Shadowgate does have a following in Japan too!)

I'm 100% willing to translate it to Swedish and keep the beautiful grammatics and typos from the NES version

I played the Swedish language version on NES as a kid. I loved the weird spelling errors, so it would be fun if they were kept if you translate the new version to Swedish. Although, I can't speak for any new fans of the game.

Oh yes, I've played it! It was due to that game that I learnt how to read. Might have been a bad first reading experience, considering the fact that they misspelled two common words in the command menu It also has some other translation oddities, but the command menu misspellings were the big ones. And I agree with nurot, it would be fun if the Swedish localization got added to the complete game, as an easter egg (though there might be too few Swedes who remember it, and who also will play the new version for it to be worth the effort)

I remember that quite well. "Bluta" is a favourite mistranslation of mine...
