I have mostly played just the NES version, but I have played a lot of it. No Easter Eggs that I've seen or heard of, but there are some weird mis-translations and spelling mistakes here and there. For instance, sometimes when you use a key to lock a door, it says "Click it close." Sometimes when you try to pay for something and you have no coins, it will say "They are no more coins." Also, it seems that this game really goes out of its way to be a jerk to Mrs. Sternwood. Really rubbing in how fat she is. I suppose that might be part of Ace's character, but it seems almost comically excessive There's also a lot of red-herring objects in the game. Kinda like Maniac Mansion. The Sternwood's kitchen could be entirely excluded, for instance. There is no reason to go into their kitchen and try to eat their leftover sausage, but you can.

Hey that sausage was yummy! Though my favorite is when I played the PC (windows) version and was like hmmm... what can I eat? Let's see I ate the quarters, my 20 dollar bill, and yups.. ate the cigarettes too!
The commentary on it is hilarious. Or like when you light up a cigarette (non nes version) it tells you how you'll probably end up dieing due to lung cancer and probably deserve to (because your smoking). Harsh yet funny.

My only gripe with the windows version is the time limit that was taken out of the nes version. Like the nes version you just have to cure your amnesia before you enter your office (after killing the hired hitman too). In the other versions it's time limited. After a short while you start getting dizzy. The second time you feel yourself losing it. Lastly you pass out and become a complete vegetable.
So your rushed to find the cure then afterwards your rushed by the police who are looking for you. The nes version you can take your time to explore and figure out the next move. But the nes version has much content changed due to hardware limitations and general censorship from Nintendo.
